hello blog.
l.t.n.s.
ive decided to make this my music update blog.
i shall update my loyal readership of two on what has been transpiring as far as plan for music may-june 2007 goes.
for those of you that dont know. the plan for music may-june 2007 is as follows.
1) buy a notebook
2) write song titles (one on each page)
3) start writing lyrics
the problem that i face is that i have the songs. (i know because i made a list:)
i have the chords/melodies to more or less all of them. except maybe a middle eight here or a bridge there. i suck at lyrics.
i think i think too much when writing. therefore never come up with anything i like.
but i shall try.
i recently bought lots of new music:)
good charlotte. i love the new song. even though noone i know likes it very much. the "keep your hands off my girl" one. i thought the album was alright. nothing great. except one or two songs. and one songs is a coldplay rip off. and another a t.A.t.u rip off. but i still give them a B+ for effort.
maroon 5. i love these guys. i hate it when people hear "makes me wonder" and say they sound like a pop band. like its a bad thing. i think the album is awesome and i think the live stint on AI was brill!:)
nine inch nails. this has to be a great record. even though "with teeth" sucked. i've yet to hear this one though. but i know i'll love it :) for more info on what i thought of "with teeth" refer to some earlier post:)
i also bought this duncan sheik album called "white limousine". which i think could have been a hit if he hadnt kept a beard or put his photo on the sleeve.
i also bought the earlier falloutboy albums. because i loved the new one so much. and realised that i shouldnt have :)
LINKIN PARK NEW ALBUM!!!!!WOOOOHOOO!!! i cant wait till the stupid pirates of our city get it right and release the actual album. twice theyve released the album and the first time it was some other random rap/rock band. and the second time around they had like 5 songs from LP and the reast was the same stupid rap/rock band:P
i love LP. im a sucker for radio friendly unit shifters:)
speaking of which
i also love the new rihanna song. umburella-ella-ella-eh-eh-eh-eh.
im gong to go home now. go eat something. and write some lyrics.
much love.

i wonder who the other loyal reader is........
and i have proof that your lyric writing is great....
Hey Hey big 2nd cousin (i'm glad you stayed true to the beard all this while!). Great blog and great musical taste--check out Cold War Kids, Joe Strummer (the recent albums before he passed), Tom Yorke (more music, less lyrics, but still worth a listen!--"Atoms for Peace" is a unique song), Incubus (of course...), [for me] old The Who songs inspire me for some reason, Plain White T's had a great acoustic song earlier this year (can't remember its name), and for your old-skoool side Jay-Z just dropped the new album (it's fantastic!).
Maybe collaborate your music with someone who can write lyrics "for" you...someone who inspires you? There are a lot of writing exercises you can do (since you already have a notebook--hopefully NOT one of those tini-tiny moleskines!).
Ex: have you heard of Found poetry? Find some article or book that inspires you and try using some of the words that stick out to you. (make sure you credit it though! :) )
Ex: Lists: "Everything that makes you happy," "Everything that makes you sad," "Everything blue," "Everything that reminds you of past inspiration," etc...
Good luck! The music's in your blood.
